Terms of Service

You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the site, attempt fraud, or violate these terms.

We sell digital PDF park guides, printed copies of some guides, and apparel and field gear. Prices are shown in US dollars and are charged at checkout through Stripe or Shopify. Shipping and taxes, where they apply, are calculated at checkout. We may refuse or cancel an order (with a refund) in cases of pricing errors, suspected fraud, or unavailability.

Digital guides are delivered as a download after payment is confirmed and remain available from your account’s “Your guides” page. Your use of the guide files is governed by our End User License Agreement.

Because digital guides are delivered instantly and can be copied, digital sales are generally final. If a file is defective, will not download, or is not what we described, contact us and we will fix it or refund you. Physical items that arrive damaged or incorrect can be reported to us within 30 days of delivery for a replacement or refund. Nothing here limits refund rights you have under applicable law.

Our guides are planning aids. Park conditions, trails, road and facility status, permits, fees, and weather change often, and outdoor recreation carries real risk, including injury and death. Always confirm current conditions and rules with the National Park Service or the relevant land manager, use your own judgment, and travel within your abilities. You assume all risks of your activities.

The site, guides, cover art, and Lichen Pine name and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Park maps and some imagery come from the National Park Service and other public-domain sources. Except as our EULA allows, you may not copy, resell, or redistribute our content.

• Do not attempt to access other users’ accounts or non-public parts of the site.
• Do not scrape, overload, or interfere with the site or its security features.
• Do not share download links or account access to give others free copies.
• Do not use the site for anything unlawful.

The site and guides are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss or injury arising from your travel or outdoor activities, and our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Payments, shop checkout, printing, and email are provided by third parties such as Stripe, Shopify, Lulu, and Resend, whose own terms apply to their services. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Lichen Pine is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts located there unless the law where you live requires otherwise. We may update these terms; continued use after the effective date above means you accept the changes.
